Your Honor Awards 2018 Member of the Year Profile: Ashley Smith Rosenblatt

YHA Rosenblatt.jpgAshley Rosenblatt, senior marketing specialist at Gordon Feinblatt, is one of the two members who were honored with our prestigious “Member of the Year” award. The award was presented to Ashley at our Mid-Atlantic Region Conference on November 1, 2018.

Ashley’s professional focus at Gordon Feinblatt is very broad. It includes all of the firm’s strategic marketing and business development initiatives, including digital and content marketing, proposals, events, sponsorships and advertising, individual and market segment team marketing plans, presentations and client relations. Ashley says, she “wears a lot of hats.”

“I am helping to put into place a new CRM system, I do marketing communications, I manage my firm’s LinkedIn and Twitter, I advise attorneys on business development, I serve on my firm’s community engagement committee… At a midsize law firm, I get to do a lot of things,” she says.

For our region, Ashley serves as chair and editor-in-chief of the Newsletter Committee. She has significantly expanded the newsletter in size and in significance, showing a breadth of current knowledge of key issues in legal marketing and considerable attention to detail.

Ashley is a native Baltimorean and has an associate’s degree from Baltimore County Community College as well as a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Towson University. She lives in the city and is loves that she is able to commute to work by walking.

Ashley came into legal marketing after she got a job right out of college as a project manager for The Bridge Alliance, a professional services alliance that included Whiteford, Taylor & Preston. She soon landed her first position in legal marketing — as a manager of strategic alliances and then as a marketing specialist at Whiteford, Taylor & Preston. After a year with Herrmann Advertising, an Annapolis-based advertising and marketing company, Ashley moved over to Gordon Feinblatt in 2016.

Many of the contacts that has Ashley built up over the years have remained with her over the years. She developed even more contacts while working on LMA’s highly successful Legal Marketing Technology Conference/Midwest 2016, serving as communications co-chair.

Ashley says LMA has been a major influence on the trajectory of her career. “I have a whole set of people whom I can ask questions, such as: ‘Have you ever seen this?’ or ‘How do you do that?’”

In addition to her LMA involvement, Ashley is involved in volunteer community activities. She serves as a member of the Executive Council of Emerging Leaders United of the United Way of Central Maryland, a group that encourages volunteerism, professional development and charity work among young professionals.

Ashley has participated in a number of speaking engagements. For Emerging Leaders United, she moderated a session, “Your Personal Board of Directors: Planning, Growing and Protecting Your Assets,” in 2017. She moderated an LMA webinar, “From Art to Science: The Coming Paradigm Shift for Law Firm Websites,” in 2016 and facilitated an LMA workshop, “BYO Idea: How to Demonstrate Your Value as a Marketer,” on social media in 2018.
