As we close out the year, I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve as the 2025 Southwest Region president. It has been an honor to help lead a region and an organization that mean so much to me.
Serving alongside our exceptional Southwest Board of Directors and our dedicated local leaders has been a highlight of my career. This group of thoughtful, talented, and committed professionals brought energy and intention to everything we set out to accomplish, and I am proud to share that we achieved the goals we established for the region at the very start of the year. Together, we strengthened communication across the region, launching a series of town halls that created meaningful space for dialogue, transparency, and connection. We held three of these conversations in 2025, including our most recent session where we heard valuable feedback from members on this year’s conference and the priorities you want the Board to focus on moving forward. We also experienced significant growth across the region, delivered relevant and impactful programming, and hosted another successful Tech West by Southwest Conference in Denver. These accomplishments belong to all of us, and they reflect the strength and engagement of our remarkable Southwest Region.
The 2025 and 2026 Boards, along with the 2026 LSC Chairs, recently gathered in Austin for a productive and energizing leadership planning meeting. I left inspired by the ideas shared and the vision taking shape for the year ahead. The region is in exceptional hands with 2026 President Emy Cook, and I cannot wait to support her and our leadership teams in my new role as Immediate Past President. I am especially looking forward to working closely with our LSCs and continuing to champion the work happening across our local groups.
Thank you for making this year so meaningful. It has been a privilege to serve as president of the Southwest Region, an experience I will always be proud of. I am excited for all that is ahead in 2026, and I am deeply grateful to be part of this community of innovative, generous, and inspiring professionals.
Here is to another great year for the Southwest Region. Don't forget to renew your membership so you don't miss out on what's to come!
Thank you, Rachael Schilling 2025 President LMA Southwest Region
