As we turn the page to 2026, I want to echo the gratitude and pride expressed by our outgoing president, Powers Tanis. The Southeast Region’s achievements in 2025—nearly 500 members served, 10 active Local Steering Committees, and almost 100 local activities—are a testament to the power of connection, volunteer leadership, and a shared commitment to advancing our profession.
This year, we are poised to build on that momentum with even greater alignment and clarity. Our theme for 2026, Alignment, is more than a word; it is our strategy for progress. Alignment means that while we each bring unique strengths and perspectives, we move forward together with shared purpose, ensuring that every initiative and decision supports our collective goals.
This year, the Board’s work focuses on three main priorities:
1. Finanical Wellness:
Our region has always managed resources responsibly, and we remain committed to transparent stewardship and supporting initiatives that benefit all members.
2. Programming – Workshop Success:
We are excited to offer two signature events in 2026:
3. LSC Engagement:
Our Local Steering Committees are the heartbeat of our region. This year, we are deepening our support for LSCs and, for the first time, will recognize outstanding leadership and innovation by naming the inaugural LSC of the Year.
On a personal note, my goal as your president is to always strive to leave our organization stronger and better than I found it. I am committed to building on our successes and ensuring that every member feels the value of their involvement.
As we focus on financial wellness, innovative programming, and LSC engagement, I invite you to get involved. Attend our workshops, volunteer with your local LSC, and share your ideas,. Your participation and voice are essential to our success.
Let us make 2026 a year where alignment and clarity drive us forward together.
With appreciation,
Anna Hedgepeth
President, LMA Southeast
