Join the LMASE Atlanta Local Group for a practical program on career development in legal marketing. The session will focus on how careers progress in the legal field, including how to identify realistic next steps, respond to unexpected changes, and make more intentional decisions about your professional path.

An experienced panel of talented legal industry professionals will discuss their own career journeys and share perspectives on topics such as:
  • Progressing in your role within law firms and legal departments
  • Identifying growth opportunities at different stages of your career
  • Navigating common challenges, including shifting priorities and organizational change
  • Developing your professional brand and building useful internal and external networks
  • Leveraging your performance evaluations to advocate for advancement, compensation, and developmental opportunities
This program is designed for professionals at all levels who want to reflect on their career direction and gather practical ideas for next steps. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask the panelists candid questions and engage in open discussion, as well as connect with colleagues in the legal marketing community

Speakers:

Sam Katz
Director of Business Development, Troutman Pepper Locke


Sam Katz is a consultative marketing and business development professional with two decades of experience advancing the business objectives of law firms, individual attorneys, and practice groups. She has a proven track record of building relationships with partners, who in turn rely on her for guidance on developing both their team and their portfolio of business.

Sam currently leads the firm’s business development efforts for the Transactional department, which includes the Corporate, Private Equity + Investment Funds, and Tax + Employee Benefits practice areas. Along with her team, Sam is responsible for responding to requests for proposal, drafting pitch and other collateral materials, assisting with public relations efforts, and providing support on client and prospect-facing events.

Prior to joining the firm in August 2022, Sam held leadership positions in business development and marketing at several prominent law firms. She is known for her ability to build strong relationships with attorneys and clients, and for her strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.

Sam is an active member of several professional and volunteer organizations, including the Legal Marketing Association. In her free time, Sam enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.


Nikki Sherrill
Chief Business Development Officer, Parker, Hudson, Rainer & Dobbs LLP


Nikki Sherrill is responsible for developing and implementing the strategy for firmwide business development, marketing and communications at Parker, Hudson, Rainer & Dobbs LLP. Working as a trusted advisor to the firm’s leadership, her top priority is supporting Parker Hudson to go beyond in all of their client service efforts.
 
Nikki has spent almost 20 years in the legal marketing profession working at large and mid-size law firms helping lawyers strengthen and develop existing client relationships. She enjoys helping to craft and execute strategy around key client relationships and supporting client service initiatives.
 
An active participant in the Legal Marketing Association, Nikki served as Co-Chair for LMA's 2025 Annual Conference. She was a Member-at-Large on the International Board of Directors from 2021-2022. In 2020, she was the Regional Leadership Committee Chair and liaison on the board. Nikki has also served as President of the LMA’s Southeast Region, among other roles on the SE regional board, including Chair of the SE Regional Conference in 2015. Nikki is passionate about her involvement in LMA and advocating for legal marketing.

Stacey McReynolds
North America Business Development Lead, Clyde & Co US LLP


Stacey McReynolds is the North American Business Development Lead at Clyde & Co, where she and her team partner with lawyers and firm leadership to drive growth across a region of 500+ lawyers in 20 offices. With nearly 20 years in legal marketing and business development, Stacey has progressed from early marketing roles into senior leadership positions spanning marketing, business development, and partner recruitment across Am Law 50 firms, boutiques, and as a consultant. 

Susan Haag
Director of Internal Initiatives, Barnes & Thornburg


As Director of Internal Initiatives at Barnes & Thornburg, Susan Haag leads the strategy and execution of firmwide internal meetings, retreats, summits, and other professional programming, including the BT Foundation established by the firm in 2020.
With more than 40 years of legal industry experience, Susan creates high impact, culturally aligned initiatives that support the firm’s people and priorities. Susan joined the firm in 1998 in the South Bend office, and spent six years in the Dallas office before relocating to Atlanta in 2025.
 
Susan attended Penn State University and is a certified paralegal. She completed the University of Notre Dame Mendoza College of Business Supervisory Development Program and is a graduate of the Leadership South Bend/Mishawaka program. Susan is a member of the Legal Marketing Association where she served as membership chair for the southwest chapter.

Nikki Griffin
Senior Business Development Manager, Fox Rothschild, LLP


Nikki Griffin helps organizations drive growth by connecting strategy, people, and client experience. As a Senior Business Development Manager at Fox Rothschild, LLP, Nikki work closely with attorneys, internal stakeholders, and client-facing professionals to design and execute business development, revenue, and client engagement strategies that scale. Nikki’s work sits at the intersection of strategy, coaching, and execution — translating complexity into clarity and turning insight into action.

Throughout her career, Nikki has led growth initiatives across complex, multi-region law firms, building and modernizing business development functions, coaching leaders and teams, and designing client-centric programs that increase retention, loyalty, and lifetime value. Nikki is particularly known for strengthening client development capabilities and aligning cross-functional teams around shared growth goals.

Nikki’s approach balances analytical rigor with human connection. She brings structure, data, and strategic discipline — while also creating trust, momentum, and accountability that enable teams to perform at a high level and deliver sustainable results.
