The homes along East Boulevard are majestic, but they have seen better days.  The owners of these buildings are elderly persons, many of whom were among the leaders of the African-American community in Cleveland in the 1960's.  They are all on fixed incomes and are financially unable to make repairs on their own.  Over the next five years, Famicos will be rehabilitating all of the buildings, and the street will be complete with fencing, lighting and public art.  On October 4th, LMA Ohio volunteers will start this important project by cleaning up and beautifying East Boulevard with debris pick-up, weeding, raking, trimming and planting of new plants and shrubs.  Residents, thanks to the work of LMA, will have a safer, more attractive place to live and play.
 
Please join us for a fun-filled and rewarding day as we contribute our time and resources (no landscaping skills required) to the betterment of the community.  Beginning at 9:00 a.m. Famicos will provide breakfast, tools and setting for a great team-oriented volunteer event.  Friends and children (preferably age 10+ or at an age where parents think they can help with these activities) are welcome.  Attire is long pants, long shirt, work gloves and closed-toe comfortable shoes, appropriate for yard work.  LMA will also provide a pizza lunch break!
