L.A. Story - Picture Perfect
Sean Carter, tonight’s Your Honor Awards Master of Ceremonies, was a perfect fit. The best way to describe his performance is to say his humor and delivery were topical and thereby relevant.
Following the YHA ceremony and another reception in the exhibit hall, attendees and exhibitors loaded up tour buses for the 30+ minute commute to The Hollywood Highlands. On the way, we passed the famous Beverly Hills Hotel and other significant venues along Hollywood Boulevard.
The food, service, music and view at the Highlands were a special treat. How can I better describe the scene or the fun everybody seemed to be having.
Being an urban adventurer, I decided to forgo taking a tour bus back to Century City. Having found a subway line along Hollywood Boulevard that also serves Santa Monica Blvd, I decided to take public transportation back to Century City in the hope of identifying some West Hollywood hotspots along the way “home”.
Friends, this was a time-consuming mistake, but one that exposed me to an important and fulfilling experience. I won’t bore you with details, but suffice it to say, the subway and subsequent 45 minute public bus ride allowed me to experience Los Angeles in a way few LMA conference attendees probably would/will.
So tomorrow’s the final day…Another breakfast with mimosas, a couple more stimulating keynotes and breakouts that will serve you very well in the coming weeks and months.
