What does In-house counsel want? How do they want to be approached and sold legal services? How do they select new outside counsel? Is there really such a thing as a “Trusted Advisor?” How have lawyers earned that status? Do client satisfaction surveys really work? What about client teams? Do clients like to be “cross-sold?”
This panel discussion is designed to help law firm’s better serve and manage relationships with in-house counsel and corporate clients. In today’s business environment, clients’ loyalties are waning. Research shows that a large percentage of corporate clients are unhappy with their primary law firm. Yet, studies indicate that many law firms are unaware of client dissatisfaction largely because many firms fail to engage in open and meaningful communications with their clients. As the economy continues to slow, clients are using fewer core firms for outside work. In this environment, it is more important than ever to make sure outside lawyers are giving their clients exactly what they want.
As regular buyers of legal services, our distinguished panel of experienced in-house counsel will offer candid insight into how they like to be approached, sold and serviced. Among other issues, our panel will examine:
• How clients find and select outside counsel
• How clients prefer to be approached for new business
• How attorneys should go about strengthening relationships with in-house counsel
• How your firm’s lawyers can become an integral part of a client’s business teams and become trusted advisors
• How clients like to be approached for cross selling activities
• How to best get feedback and information on client satisfaction
