The Legal Marketing Association
The Authority for Legal Marketing®
The Supreme Court’s 1977 landmark decision in Bates v State Bar of Arizona did more than ease advertising restrictions placed on lawyers, it changed the business of law.
As the business acumen among law firms became more evident, so did the need for professional development and community among those professionals leading the charge. Out of this need emerged the Legal Marketing Association (LMA), a nonprofit professional association dedicated to serving the needs and maintaining the professional standards of those involved in marketing for the legal profession. Today, LMA serves more than 3,000 members internationally.
