Program Committee  – Education

Often referred to as the “heart” of the organization, the Educational Programs Committee produces innovative and timely programming each month for the professional development of Bay Area legal marketers. Our committee is a fun and lively group with backgrounds not only in law firm marketing, but also public relations, print and online media, event planning, and business development. Each member brings a wealth of knowledge, industry contacts, technology and event planning to the mix.  We are always looking for talented and committed LMA members to join our stellar team. Technology Conference/West

The 2012 Legal Marketing Technology Conference/West will get you up to speed on all things legal tech--in just one day!

Special Events

The Program Committee– Special Events is responsible for organizing several chapter events throughout the year. Each spring we hold the Chapter’s Annual Your Honor Awards followed by the Summer Social and New Member Reception. In December, the Chapter holds a Holiday Party and Silent Auction which benefits the Erick Vargas Scholarship Fund for economically challenged marketing students at San Francisco State University. Governance
Responsible for making recommendations to the Board and Chapter Administrator on matters related to effective governance of the organization.  Specific supporting tasks in this regard include:

• Designing and implementing an evaluation model and criteria to measure Board and committee performance
• Create and maintain a Board development program
• Annual review of the organization’s governance structure
• Other tasks as assigned by the Board or President

In addition, the committee will assume the role and responsibility for the Nominations committee. Supporting tasks in this regard include:

• Supporting the annual Board nominations process
• Presenting the slate for approval
• Advising the President-Elect and Board on committee structure and prospective committee leaders/members.

City Group  – Sacramento

The LMA - Bay Area Chapter believes that geography should never be a barrier to professional development. In 2009, we formed the Sacramento City Group to expand programming and increase networking opportunities for legal professionals located in California’s capitol city and surrounding region.

City Group  – Silicon Valley

The LMA – Bay Area Chapter is continually broadening its geographic reach to its members and other professional services professionals.  In 2012, we launch the Silicon Valley City Group (SVCG) to offer great LMA – Bay Area Chapter programming as well as valuable networking opportunities to legal professionals located in the Silicon Valley region.  Silicon Valley City Group participants include LMA -  Bay Area Chapter members, non-member law firm professionals, vendors and allied professional services marketers.  Programs may include a nominal cover charge for non-members.
