Straight from the Source: Insights from the Path to Partnership

Friday, June 12 | 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. PT

Are you working with lawyers on the partner track?

Join the Legal Marketing Association for a candid, lawyer panel on what drives momentum before and after partnership and how legal marketers can meaningfully support that progress.

You will hear directly from lawyers on how business development support is experienced from their perspective: what helps, what creates friction, and what lawyers wish they had understood earlier. Rather than hearing about lawyers’ needs, this session is designed to let you hear directly from lawyers who are living the transition.

Our panelists will speak openly about how BD expectations emerge, where marketing support feels credible (or not), and how the marketer/lawyer relationship evolves once partnership begins.

Why Attend

This session is designed for BD and marketing professionals who want to:

  • Pressure test assumptions about what lawyers actually want and need at this stage
  • Understand where well intended BD efforts create stress or disengagement
  • Understand what support lawyers wish they had earlier in the process
  • Build more trusted, effective relationships with future and new partners

What You’ll Hear—From the Lawyers Themselves
In this virtual discussion, panelists will share firsthand perspectives on questions such as:

  • What BD support feels appropriate and credible for senior associates?
  • What marketer/business development initiatives add anxiety or encounter resistance?
  • How do lawyers want to initiate BD thinking before partnership?
  • What BD expectations tend to surface too late in the process?
  • How does the marketer/lawyer relationship change once someone becomes a partner?
  • What BD support do new partners actually rely on in their first two years?
