About the Presenters
Erin Baxendale helps lawyers win business and keep clients happy. She leads the business development and marketing teams responsible for Sidley’s global regulatory practices and industry teams. Erin focuses on identifying opportunities for cross-selling, client and pursuit teams, BD coaching and training and integrated campaigns to drive brand awareness and engagement. She has 20 years of marketing and BD experience in the professional services industry and enjoys, above all else, helping others develop their talents and find the fire in their bellies!
Erin is a graduate of the William Allen White School of Journalism at the University of Kansas – rock chalk Jayhawk! Currently she serves as secretary of LMA’s Midwest Board of Directors.

With more than 15 years of experience in legal marketing, Laura Galeano, Esq. has a true passion for the interconnections between marketing and technology/knowledge management. As CMO, she oversees Bilzin Sumberg's business development and marketing functions, including client services, business development, marketing, public relations and communication.
Many of the projects Laura works on involve the integration of platforms, launching technology products, and using technology to enhance our delivery of client value-adds.
She regularly speak on technology-related topics such as bridging the gap between marketing and knowledge management and challenges of CRM adoption in the legal industry. In 2017 and 2013, together with Bilzin Sumberg's Chief Knowledge Officer, Laura co-managed the development of the firm's website that resulted in Bilzin Sumberg’s receipt of a first place Legal Marketing Association’s Southeastern Chapter (LMASE) "Your Honor Award." The website was also recognized as a 2017 Official Honoree of The Webby Awards.
Laura graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies, with an emphasis in Legal Communication, from Florida State University. She received her J.D. from Florida International University, College of Law. She served on the LMASE board of directors from 2015 - 2016. Currently, she serves as a member of LMA's Educational Advisory Council.
