Kay Kim serves as the Senior Director of Practice Innovation at Crowell & Moring LLP. The firm created this role for Kay to help set the firm’s strategy on innovation in legal service delivery. Kay helps the firm identify, implement and ensure adoption of technology and other innovative solutions to enhance practice performance and expand and deepen existing client relationships while enhancing the firm’s ability to compete effectively for new business. She engages directly with clients to solicit feedback on their expectations around innovative legal service delivery. Recognizing that clients seek partnership beyond legal advice, Kay is devoted to driving more value to the firm's clients by enhancing efficiency, predictability, speed, accuracy, collaboration, and communication in service delivery.
Prior to taking on this new role at the firm, Kay led a dynamic team of business development and practice management professionals supporting the firm’s practice groups and cross-practice departments/working groups. Kay has over 20 years of experience in the legal services industry in both attorney and non-attorney roles. She was a corporate attorney at DLA Piper in New York and then at Crowell & Moring in Washington, DC. She also served as in-house counsel at Direct Holdings Americas Inc. (formerly, Time Life Inc.) before returning to Crowell & Moring.
