Oliver Yandle, JD, CAE is Executive Director of the Association of Legal Administrators (ALA), the largest international organization providing support to people in the legal management profession. With nearly 8,500 members in 30 countries, Yandle steers an organization of leaders in the legal management industry who are experts in management, finance, human resources, systems and technology, facilities, marketing and practice management.
Prior to joining ALA in July 2012, Yandle served as the executive vice president of the Commercial Law League and executive director of the International Association of Defense Counsel, in Chicago, Illinois. He also was an adjunct instructor of legal analysis and writing at the Washington College of Law at American University.
In addition to his legal experience, Yandle has had a long-standing career in association work. He has held senior director positions at SmithBucklin, a global association management company, the International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association and the Intelligent Transportation Society of America.
He is active in both the Society of Association Executives (ASAE) where he holds the Certified Association Executive designation, and the Association Forum of Chicagoland, where he served as Chair of the Board of Directors. He was recently recognized by Crain’s Chicago Business as a member of the first class of Chicago’s Notable LGBTQ Executives.
Yandle is a native of Louisiana and holds a BA in journalism from Loyola University of the South in New Orleans, and a JD from Washington College of Law at The American University in Washington, D.C.
