As Chief Strategy Officer, Josh leads market-driven development and key growth initiatives for Seyfarth Shaw. As part of the firm’s business leadership, his areas of focus are growth strategy and innovation. In his role, he oversees the firms practice development, marketing, business development, pricing, Lean solutions, business design and business intelligence teams.
Prior to joining Seyfarth Shaw, Josh designed and built sustainable businesses and brands, with focus on emerging models within the legal services market, including legal tech, tech-enabled services, and flexible talent models. As the Founder and President of Legal Transformation Institute, a consulting firm specializing in business design and growth acceleration, Josh served a clientele ranging from pre-revenue startups and small regional firms to large international firms and global content providers. Josh has also held leadership roles within several global legal service organizations where he led specialty divisions/projects focusing on driving innovation and change into business processes.
Josh is a recognized expert, thought leader, and entrepreneur within the legal sector, particularly on business of law, future of law, design-thinking, changing competitive landscape and evolution of legal buy practices. He serves as adjunct faculty at Michigan State University, where he developed design-thinking coursework for J.D. candidates. He has received numerous awards and recognition for his work both inside companies as well as within the legal market broadly. He regularly speaks and writes on the broad range of topics encompassed by legal transformation.
