||Marketing Ethics and Attorney Advertising Rules are an important area of knowledge for CMOs. Lawyers and law firms use social media to advertise to prospective clients and to market themselves to the general public. As with all forms of communications by lawyers and law firms, digital and social media usage is subject to ethical and other constraints and a failure to abide by these constraints can have serious consequences.
Ronald Hedges, Senior Counsel of Dentons, will provide an overview of the NY State Bar Association Rules on Attorney Advertising and answer questions about compliance with the Rules.
About Our Presenter:
Ron Hedges is a member of Dentons' Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice group. He has extensive experience in e-discovery and in the management of complex litigation and has served as a special master, arbitrator and mediator. He also consults on management and discovery of electronically stored information (“ESI”).
As a retired United States Magistrate Judge for the District of New Jersey, Ron has written widely and spoken frequently on Information Governance Discovery in the area of electronic health records and on defensible disposition generally. He also presented “ESI and Ethics: What Should a Judge Expect from an Attorney,” “ESI and Discovery, Back to Basics” and “E-Discovery and Complex Litigation: How to Manage” at the 2016 New Jersey Judicial College Conference.
