||Planning for a crisis isn’t simply about having a playbook to deploy at a moment’s notice. The human element of crisis management can be the factor that makes the difference between a one-day crisis becoming a full-fledged communications disaster. A CMO’s relationship with the firm’s partners and leadership, as well as the firm’s staff, and the trust engendered by those relationships, paves the way to efficient decision-making. Deborah Farone, Jamie Diaferia and Zach Olsen will discuss the internal relationships and documents that need to be in place prior to a crisis, the mechanics of crisis management and the most common scenarios law firms face.
This program will also focus on
**How to work seamlessly and effectively with outside parties, including crisis counselors and government officials
**The steps and positioning to take when working with firm management
**How to engage your staff so that they on board with unfolding events, without becoming an inadvertent liability
**Understanding the differing protocols for a traditional crisis vs. a data breach

Throughout her career, she has dealt with communications and management issues ranging from cyber breaches and government investigations to unexpected changes in leadership. Ms. Farone is a past president of the LMA’s New York chapter, the recipient of the chapter’s inaugural Legacy Award, and past Chair of the New York City Bar’s marketing communications committee. She is currently writing a book on the best practices in law firm marketing and consulting, as Farone Advisors LLC, with four professional service firms.
