||Are you living under a “Be Careful” cloud? From a very early age, most of us were warned to be careful as we got on to that first school bus, when we got our driver’s license, when we went off to college, etc. Has any mother ever said, “Take a risk today darling!” What we did not realize as Jack Canfield stated was that “everything you want is on the other side of fear!”
We all fear something… success, failure, public speaking, introducing a new idea at a meeting, asking for a raise, changing jobs, and the list goes on. How we handle our fears can make us or break us. Once we understand that feeling fear means we are growing by facing new challenges, pushing through it becomes less daunting. The alternative is to change nothing, living in the comfort of our confines, and ultimately becoming stuck in a rut. As long as you are trying something new, you will always feel fear.
Understanding fear and having the tools to push through it anyway can be the bridge we need to become more successful in every aspect of our lives. Whatever your fears are… pushing through them can open the door to a whole new way of life, and feelings of increased confidence that you can handle whatever comes your way.
Our colleagues, Marcia Jeffers and Lynn Tellefsen will lead us through a discussion that explores our fears in more detail and against the backdrop of their own breakthroughs. They will also introduce tools and techniques to help you overcome your fears.
A copy of Susan Jeffers’ (Marcia’s sister) book, Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway, will be raffled off at the lunch. Copies of the book may be purchased on Amazon.
