What is the best advice you ever received?
Actually two pieces of advice have guided me, one being "keep your eye on the ball' and the other "do the best you can with what you have". One implies to stay focused and the other to use whatever talents you have to the best of your ability.
What would people be most surprised to learn about you?
That I was all-state in both basketball and baseball in high school and attended NYU on a basketball scholarship before going on to play professional baseball for the Phillies organization in South Dakota.
If you were stranded on a desert island for one week with a group of lawyers, what would you want to have with you?
A good array of books to read and Sinatra songs to listen to with a few bottles of wine.
What is your favorite movie? Favorite book?
My all time favorite movie is "Its a Wonderful Life" the Frank Capra classic with James Stewart and Donna Reed. My favorite book is Profiles in Courage by John F. Kennedy.
Where is your favorite place to relax?
I like being near the water and enjoy walking along the beaches in Northern California before having a great dinner overlooking the ocean.
What is one of the most memorable events from your childhood?
Being able to walk on a professional baseball field after NY Giants games at the Polo Grounds in New York and seeing Willie Mays play in his prime. There was no one better. Also being a bat boy for my Dad's semipro baseball teams and learning how to play the game from him and all the players on the team. These were memorable experiences for me.
If you could eat only one food or cuisine for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Although Italian would always be a favorite of mine, at this time of my life, spicy Chinese food would be great to have as the one food for the rest of my life. I appreciate Chinese culture and the many kinds of foods to enjoy throughout China.
