Joe Melnick Wants Us to Get Moving for Diabetes at the Tour de Cure on Detroit’s Belle Isle

In addition to his role as Director of Client Development and Sales with Dickinson Wright PLLC, Joe Melnick gives his time and energy to the American Diabetes Association as a member of the Michigan Community Leadership Board and the volunteer Advocacy Chair for Michigan.

Joe asks LMA members, families, and friends to take part in ADA Michigan’s annual fundraiser, the Tour de Cure at Belle Isle in Detroit, a mix of cycling, running, and walking events on Sunday, September 8, 2019. The actual Tour de Cure is for people of all cycling abilities, featuring 3 well-marked routes of 10, 30, and 60 miles with safety marshals and safety vehicles and fully stocked rest stops along the way. The 5K run and walk are great ways to get out, have fun, and celebrate those who are living with diabetes. The Tour can be a meaningful team-building exercise, a family bonding experience, or a chance to enjoy the end of summer weather. More than just ride, walk, or run, however, the Tour de Cure is a celebration of the ADA’s mission and an opportunity to raise critical funds to help fight diabetes. Every mile covered and every dollar raised brings us that much closer to a cure.

Registration is $20 for cyclists (through August 1), and free for walkers and runners. The fundraising minimum is $200 for adult cyclists, $50 for children cyclists 12 and under, and $100 for runners. There is no fundraising minimum for walkers.
