Since its inception, the Detroit local group has grown from a small few in the Detroit area to more than 40 dynamic and impressive legal marketers across the state, representing law firms of all sizes and practices. But as a result of conversations and outreach efforts by members of the Local Steering Committee, the group recognized that LMA Detroit had not fulfilled its obligation to involve and include members outside of Southeast Michigan. And it’s time to fix that.
To make sure everyone derives the maximum value from their LMA memberships, LMA Detroit is pleased to announce that the group will now be known as LMA Michigan.
“This is more than just a name change and new logo,” says Cindy Richards, Chair of the LMA Michigan Local Steering Committee and Director of Marketing at Howard & Howard Attorneys. “It’s a commitment to provide equal networking and educational opportunities to all of our members in Michigan, no matter where they live and work.”
“Soon, all of the group’s live programs will rotate between Metro Detroit and other cities,” added John Reed of Rain BDM who leads LMA Michigan’s Membership and Communications efforts. “Members can convene in one of multiple locations to view presentations live or via a real-time simulcast, giving everyone the opportunity to get together and foster professional connections.” Local steering committee members will be present at each venue as well to answer questions and get feedback.
Another goal of the LMA Michigan evolution is to attract former members and new prospects to consider joining LMA, so please help Cindy and the Local Steering Committee by spreading the word to your friends and colleagues in Michigan, wherever they are in the state.
