At Huie, my job is to introduce creative, strategic techniques to grow our brand and portfolio of clients and to cultivate each attorney's entrepreneurial spirit.
Why and/or how did you get into legal marketing?
Prior to joining Huie, I held similar roles at a public accounting firm and at a healthcare organization. I'm grateful for the insight I received from working in multiple industries.
A typical day includes lots of planning. I'm always planning for the next meeting, next event, next article, next social media post, etc. When I am not planning, I like to keep my ears to the ground by taking laps around the office and having impromptu discussions with members of our team. These interactions often trigger new ideas.
My biggest challenge is being a team of one. It takes a lot of effort to ensure each attorney receives the coaching and support they deserve.
I love the versatility of my job. If there really is a recipe for success, my job would be the perfect assortment of ingredients for me: writing, networking, event planning, recruiting, social media, researching, training and development, community service, etc.
Do your research. Each firm approaches marketing differently and it is important to find the best cultural fit for you. Also, don't be afraid to think outside of the box.
