On The 4th Day of Social Media, Your SIG Leaders Gave To You:
4 Social Media Educational and Networking Resources for Marketers

Hello LMA’ers from sunny Southwest Florida and welcome to the 4th day of Social Media. I don’t know about you, but I am always looking for great resources to help, not only myself, but my attorneys for new ways to improve all aspects of business and client development. Below is a list of my favorite four resources for information:

  1. First on the list is a fellow Floridian, Tom Kane, and his Legal Marketing Blog. Tom has a unique perspective since he is a former practicing attorney and CMO in Philadelphia. He shares content on a regular basis on everything from holiday cards, tips for attorney bios to networking tips and ways to develop actionable marketing plans.
  2. Another resource I check on a regular basis is my co-SIG Leader Lindsay Griffiths’ blog, Zen and the Art of Legal Networking. I may be biased but Lindsay is amazing. Lindsay’s conference recaps are full of great nuggets to take back to your lawyers. She also shares information in her “General Counsel Corner,” rainmaking tips from Jaimie Field, and of course social media. Lindsay has even created tutorials on LinkedIn.
  3. If you are looking for a fabulous resource to help coach your lawyers, visit Cordell Parvin’s blog, Developing the Next Generation of Rainmakers. I am a regular reader and enjoy his real-life stories of lawyers he coached and their results, recommendations on what to read, and his ideas to help the youngest attorneys just out of law school to young partners who are struggling to build their book of business.
  4. Last but not least, a one-stop resource is LXBN.com, published by our friends at LexBlog (and full disclosure, my firm is a LexBlog client).  There is a plethora of information contained on LXBN from their network; and, if your attorneys are struggling wondering what to write about for their own blog post, LXBN has a side bar of practice areas where you can see what others are talking about. A superb reference for anyone in legal.

There you have it, my top 4 resources for education and networking tips. What are some of your favorite resources? Please feel free to share them in a comment below.

Happy Holidays from your Social Media SIG Leaders:
