Advocacy Committee

In this role, you will work with the Director of Advocacy, Hunter Rowe, to execute on three distinct region-based programs – LMA Southwest Region Your Honor Awards, the Southwest Region’s LMANext program, and the ABA Model Rule initiative. The committee will also focus on developing relationships between LMASW (on the regional and local level) and various bar, legal, and non-profit organizations.

Communications Committee

In this role, you will work with Director of Communications/Technology, Terra Davis, to help write, edit and produce content and imagery for the multiple forms of communication produced for the Southwest Region, to include: social media, newsletters, promotional content for the Region Conference, and content for various Region initiatives.

Membership Committee

In this role, you will work with Director of Membership Engagement, Vanessa Petrea, to create ways in which to engage and grow our membership. This committee will be composed of interested parties from around the region, as well as the LSC membership liaisons. This committee is charged with executing membership growth, onboarding, and engagement, and works closely with all of our other committees. Some responsibilities include: recruiting new members, reviewing and updating membership materials, welcoming new members, ensuring that membership rolls are updated with changes, sharing rosters, and implementing processes to meet our 2020 (and beyond) goals.

Programming Committee

In this role, you will work with Director of Programming, Katy Corrigan, to support a number of programming initiatives for the region, including: provide support for the Circuit Speaker Program that the region provides to our six Local Groups; participate in the speaker/program selection process for our 2020 Southwest Region Conference; assist with execution of the Next Big Thing 2.0 program at the board’s direction; and assistance with additional programming initiatives and tasks as needed.

Sponsorship Committee

In this role, you will have an opportunity to use your professional marketing and development skills for the benefit of LMA. Enthusiasm, the gift of persuasive communication and a passion for providing members with a best-in-class experience are all you need to bring to the table. You will work with Director of Sponsorship, Carman Jackson Akins, to assist with the design and production of a region-wide prospectus for sponsorship sales, manage sponsorship fulfillment, and share best practices with the LSCs. Other responsibilities may include ensuring contracts are executed for sponsorships, facilitating region-wide sponsor prospect lists and completing a call for sponsors.

Southwest Region Conference Committee

In this role, you will work with Sheila Sheley and Stacey Hall, Co-Chairs of the 2020 LMASW Region Conference to plan and execute the Southwest Region conference - a two-day, workshop-driven conference held October 22-23, 2019 in Dallas, Texas - while deepening relationships with colleagues from around the Southwest Region.  Volunteer opportunities involve standing committees: programming, sponsorships, and communications, in addition to onsite logistics. The purpose of this conference is to provide immediately-effective management and leadership tools to attendees, with new ways to approach the management of highly-functioning teams and business development, marketing, and client relations functions.
