Scott Ziegler is the Boston-based advertising director at Lawyers Weekly and a longtime LMA Northeast volunteer. In response to the Q&A series with leaders in the region, Scott shared his tips for success and some inspirational advice for our Future Leaders on how they can become their best professional selves.
How did you get involved in the LMA?
Many years ago, I was asked by a chapter president to serve as the membership chair. I served in that role for three years and found it extremely rewarding. After a six-year hiatus from the legal marketing world, upon my return, I sought out a similar role with the LMA because of my positive experience from my first tour of duty. I’m very much enjoying serving as the 2018 member at large on the Boston Steering Committee where I focus on membership engagement.
What do you think is the key for success as a legal marketer today?
Staying ahead of the curve and making sure you always provide your firm and your colleagues with the information and tools they need to succeed.
What is the best career advice that you ever received?
Save your clients/employers money, help them make money, help them sleep at night and make them look good.
What do you wish you could tell your younger professional self?
Be confident, take risks and ask for help when you need it.
What do you love most about what you do?
I very much enjoy helping my clients identify opportunities then provide a valuable solution to them.
