Call For Presenters: 2014 LMA-LA Continuing Marketing Education Conference (CME)

The Los Angeles Chapter of the Legal Marketing Association (LMA-LA) is seeking proposals for its 2014 Continuing Marketing Education (CME) conference on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at the Sofitel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills.

Our working theme, “The Next BIG IDEA,” extends upon last year’s full-day program, which brought together more than 130 marketing professionals and attorneys. We are seeking presentations that focus on a notable idea and how to practically implement the concept. Presentation categories include:

  • Trending Now
    • Legal industry issues currently trending – e.g., multigenerational work force, eco-consciousness, e-bidding, etc.
  • Leading Future Leaders
    • Empowering individuals to be leaders; looking inward to change yourself and your organization.
  • Beyond Business Development
    • What other industries already know about business development, and how we can adapt and succeed.
  • Putting your technology to work
    • CRM, SEO, ROI, CI and more – surrounding yourself with the tools that will work for you.

We seek creative presentations that will underscore our conference’s core theme to a wide audience of legal marketing professionals in business development, marketing, PR, communications, technology, as well as practicing lawyers who oversee the marketing function at their firm. Each presentation should have practical, readily adaptable takeaways.

BIG IDEAS. 20 MINUTES OR LESS. CONTINUED FOR 2014.
This year we will continue the TED Talks-style presentation format that has become a staple of this unique program. Each presenter has up to 20 minutes to communicate his or her “big idea.” The format has proved to be very successful for both speakers and attendees, especially for its ability to spur interest and conversation after the presentation. 
 
WE INVITE YOUR SUBMISSIONS
All submissions will be seriously considered. Proposals should include the following information (please keep your total proposal to no longer than 2 pages):

  1. Title and presentation abstract
  2. Educational objectives. What will attendees learn from the presentation?
  3. Specific takeaways. Tell us what attendees will be able to implement at their own firms as a result of the presentation.
  4. Presenter(s) contact information and brief biography, including relevant experience, for everyone involved in the presentation.      
  5. References. List individuals who have either heard the specific presentation or can vouch for your ability to "wow" an audience.
