Robyn Addis served as the 2018 Philadelphia Local Steering Committee Chair. We asked her about her year at the helm, her advice for her younger self and how getting involved in the Legal Marketing Association helped advance her professional development.
What was your favorite part about being Local Steering Committee (LSC) chair?
Having the ability to set the goals of our local organization and working with a dedicated team of professionals to bring them to fruition was one of my favorite parts about being LSC chair.
Tell us about how your LMA volunteer work has benefitted your professional development?
Being a part of LMA has expanded my personal and professional network in ways I could never have imagined, especially as it relates to our Northeast Region. Working with Savannah [Alden] and Matt [Loomis] over the past year to lead our respective local groups has been very rewarding, and it has been great to get to know folks from New York and Boston.
Describe the Legal Marketing Association in three words.
Collegial. Focused. Dedicated.
Any advice to the incoming LSC chair taking over your role?
Go big or go home!
What piece of advice you wish you could give your younger professional self?
Get involved in anything and everything you can as early as possible. It took me a while before I began engaging with LMA, and it has made such an impact on my professional career, I wish I had done it sooner!
Tell us what you have planned for 2019 – will you still be involved in the LMA?
I’m taking the year off in any official capacity to focus on my family, but I’m always around, and will be helping 2019 Philly LSC Chair Jason Lisi get his sea legs as he takes the lead on 2019.
