Reed Smith, the global law Am Law 20 firm recognized by both clients and national organizations alike as a leader in providing high value legal services to clients ranging from the Fortune 50 to entrepreneurial companies, has an opening in its marketing/business development team for an experienced manager to help lead business development efforts for the firm’s Litigation Department, working with the Labor & Employment and Commercial Litigation groups. Working with business development leadership and the practice group leaders, the candidate will plan and implement visibility-raising initiatives, target markets and prospects, develop proposals, handle directory submissions, and help create programs which provide value for our clients. This position works closely with the firm’s international marketing team, the proposal team, and the public relations team.
The opportunity demands a professional with a bachelor’s degree (advanced degree preferred) and at least 8 years’ experience in marketing or business development in a professional services marketing setting (law firm experience a plus). Strong work ethic and great project management skills needed to handle multiple projects simultaneously, across offices, and meet deadlines. Positive, team player with a ‘can-do’ attitude. Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with leading partners. Salary commensurate with education, experience and market. Will consider location in either the firm’s Los Angeles, San Francisco or Philadelphia offices.
