Five Key Takeaways from LMA's P3 Conference

Did you want to attend the LMA's first annual P3 Conference but weren't able to?  Attorney at Work's Merrilyn Astin Tarlton posted a fantastic summary of this inaugural event as well as five valuable takeaways from the conference.

Here is a peek at what Merrilyn had to say:

  1. It's not just arrogance.
Nimble, small firms are in a good position for client development due to relatively lower in-firm costs than Big Law.
  2. Commodity work is an opportunity.
With a businesslike approach, commodity work represents a huge opportunity to increase profitability.
  3. Forehead smack.
Clients are not interested in supporting the existence of traditional law firms.
  4. Forms banks can be sexy.
Expand profit margins with re-useable forms.
  5. Remember the maxim "If you do good work, clients will just come to you"?
Basic clients are fleeing law firms for online legal aid. Firms must change their strategy to keep up.
