2019 LMA Southwest Region Conference

WALK THE LINE | Toe It. Walk It. Push It.

Over the course of your career, you will toe, walk, and push the line to achieve goals, develop skills, and advance your position. The purpose of this two-day, workshop-driven conference is to provide immediately effective leadership and wellness tools to attendees, bringing new ways to mindfully manage and excel in their careers, personal and professional relationships, high-functioning teams, and business development marketing and client relations functions. Workshops and sessions will be led by leaders in the legal, business, and wellness industries and will cover an array of skills and strategies to foster collaboration, think and act strategically, drive overall business objectives, and maintain wellness to operate at peak performance at work and in life.

PROGRAMMING | 90-Minute Sessions

This highly-interactive workshop-driven conference will be comprised of 90-minute sessions that address current and future trends in legal marketing and business development, professional development and personal wellness through hands-on learning and real-world application. The scope of each workshop should be narrowly-focused to allow for in-depth exploration of the topic. Topics may include business development, technology, strategic planning, business of law, communications, and research/analytics, as well as lessons in professional development, leadership training, personal wellness and skills-oriented boot camps.

Effective facilitators will recognize and take advantage of their experience, as well as that of participants. Facilitators are asked to engage the audience through interactive elements, dynamic speaking styles, and by using process-oriented tools and techniques including worksheets, case studies, role-play, group discussion, active problem-solving, and real-time production of work-product. Participants should leave each session with practical skills, strategies, and materials that can be immediately used when they return to the office. Facilitators should be able to educate different levels – junior, mid-level and/or senior, and be cognizant of audience demographics to include applicability to small, medium and large-sized law firms and organizations.

CONFERENCE BACKGROUND

The 2019 LMA Southwest Region Conference is dedicated to helping law firm professionals advance their careers by providing a premier forum to learn from and network with thought leaders and colleagues. This will be the largest annual gathering of legal marketers in the Southwest, bringing together members from Arizona, Colorado, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, and Utah, as well as other parts of the United States.

Attendees that are in-house legal marketing professionals range from junior-level coordinators/specialists to senior leaders in law firm marketing and business development departments. More than a quarter of those attendees are CMOs, Directors or heads of the department who are responsible for the development and management of marketing policy and strategy in their law firms and companies. Over one-third is comprised of senior managers/managers and a mix of coordinators, specialists and assistants. The remaining quarter includes consultancies and service providers.

SUBMISSION BEST PRACTICES

To increase your odds of being selected, please include all of the requested information and be specific about the scope of the workshop, engagement techniques and in-session activities, key takeaways, real-world application, and supporting materials.

If your presentation is selected, you will be notified by May 31, 2019. In appreciation of your contribution to the success of this conference, speakers will receive 50% off the early bird registration rate. All speakers are responsible for their own travel and any associated expenses
