March 21, 2019 | 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM
David H. Freeman, JD and Bobbie Conklin
In this session, we will cover two topics:
1) Turning Retreats into Revenue
When designing a firm or group retreat, it’s important to develop programming that will deliver a significant return on the time and money invested in these events.
This can be accomplished by getting lawyers laser-focused on generating more revenue. A well-crafted retreat can serve as a launching pad that motivates lawyers to engage in high-value business development activities.
- Identify the major goals of a revenue-focused retreat.
- Define key elements that drive revenue-generating behavior.
- Discuss programming ideas designed to drive revenue-producing activity.
- Share approaches for how lawyers can maximize their business development time at the retreat.
- Explore retreat follow-up techniques.
2) Increasing Lawyer Engagement through Gamification
Recent studies have shown that by a 5:1 ratio, low lawyer engagement is by far the most important issue facing marketing and business development professionals. Increasing lawyer engagement is the holy grail for most firms, and one of the newest approaches that’s making waves across all industries is gamification. In this segment of the program, we will discuss ways firms can gamify elements of business development to increase engagement and focus their lawyers’ business development activity.
- Identify opportunities to gamify activities
- Share specific gamification techniques
