Does your firm need to reboot?  The legal landscape is changing as client expectations evolve and innovations are introduced every day.  Join this workshop to discuss disruptive market forces that drive legal buying behavior, gain access to a diagnostic tool to identify strategic options for firms and practice groups, and discuss a framework for strategy development.  This will be a highly engaging and participative workshop appropriate for LMA members of all levels.

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Gain an understanding of the dynamic nature of the legal marketplace today and how the market is being disrupted by new players and technology.
  2. Identify the connection between market trends and strategic options, focusing on two strategic options – Solution Provider and Talent Provider – to illustrate the need to define a strategic direction.
  3. Participate in a “diagnostic” evaluation relating to a practice group or firm strategic position, which will provide input on whether participant should consider a Solution orTalent Provider strategy.
  4. Evaluate a case study or learn about an example of how each strategy might be implemented.

Jennifer Manton leads Kramer Levin’s marketing and business development initiatives. In her work, Jennifer oversees efforts to expand and improve relationships with existing clients and to engage new clients. She works closely with the firm’s practice and industry groups on developing and implementing strategy to gain client share and market share. She also directs all aspects of the firm’s branding and marketing strategy, which encompasses media relations, advertising, digital marketing and social media, as well as internal and external communications.

Jennifer has nearly 25 years’ professional services marketing experience, having developed and implemented numerous marketing, business development and client service initiatives in her career. She has worked with firms ranging in size from 50 to 450 attorneys, and prior to joining the legal industry, gained her initial experience and her passion for marketing and business development working with accountants.

Lisa Simon is Chief Marketing and Business Development Officer at Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie. She is responsible for the creation and implementation of innovative business development and marketing strategies that drive revenue, expand and grow client relationships and serve as a catalyst for new client acquisition. She provides strategic leadership and support to the Firm’s Managing Partner, Practice Group Leaders, office leaders and the marketing team in reaching the firm’s business development goals. A twenty-year legal marketing veteran and proven leader in the industry, Lisa is a frequent speaker on client growth and retention, value pricing, team management and leadership and talent acquisition. Lisa was inducted into the LMA Hall of Fame in 2017, served as LMA President in 2008 and has held numerous leadership positions with LMA during her career.  Before her career in legal marketing, Lisa worked in the banking industry and in broadcasting. She has a B.A. in Communications from the University of Denver.

Any cancellations made before September 5, 2018 will be fully refunded. All cancellations made after that date will be billed in full. Registrations may be transferred, however price differences between member and non-members will be billed accordingly.
