Vendor Negotiations: Building Relationships and Identifying Opportunities

Legal marketing professionals often find themselves having to negotiate, whether it’s for an event, new marketing technology or sponsorship opportunities. For professionals new to the process, negotiation can be intimidating. But these discussions can feel a little less trying with the right skills and preparation.

Our July program will feature two legal marketers who will share how they negotiated a partnership with a trade show provider and how that deal leveraged into unique business development opportunities. They will also discuss:
  • How to identify opportunities and partnerships;
  • The process of contract negotiations and tips to negotiate successfully;
  • Building and maintaining relationships with vendors; and
  • Leveraging vendor relationships for business development opportunities.
Julia BennettOur speakers this month are Julia Bennett, Senior Business Development Manager, and Kisme Williams, Senior Events Specialist, both at Venable. Julia is a former attorney who transitioned into legal marketing in 2011. She specializes in business development, mergers and acquisitions, and talent development.

Kisme WilliamsKisme has a record of achievement in business development, event management and direct marketing for multi-million dollar companies across diverse industries. She has experience improving organizational productivity, resulting in increased revenue and reduced costs.
