This presentation serves as a case study for why our law firm marketing departments should look at public relations from a different angle. Too often, media relations is thought of as a soft, community affairs function of a business, but in the law firm environment – where the product we are selling are the attorneys who work for our firm – public relations can be among our greatest tools for strengthening an attorney's credibility and reputation. Effectively used, PR can also create a pathway directly toward a new client. This presentation will offer examples of how a PR manager can work with the business development team to achieve outcomes with traditional PR, thought leadership and third party endorsements that strengthen reputations and enhance credibility in areas of interest to prospective clients. In turn, we will cover the more important task of leveraging those results to advance various business development pursuits.
