This presentation will serve as a review and reminder of the advertising rules in Missouri as well as risks involved with digital marketing. Specific topics to be addressed include:

  • The duty of confidentiality to a prospective client
  • Negative client reviews: to respond or not to respond? And how?
  • Attorney firm departures: the right and wrong way to give clients notice

About our Presenter:

Whittney DunnWhittney Dunn is a Risk Manager at The Bar Plan Mutual Insurance Company in St. Louis, Missouri.  In this role, Dunn presents continuing legal education courses throughout the state and the nation on ethics, professionalism, and malpractice avoidance and provides one-on-one ethics guidance and law practice management assistance to attorneys in Missouri and beyond.  Dunn is a double alumna of the University of Missouri in Columbia, receiving her J.D. in 2011 and her Bachelor of Journalism in Strategic Communications in 2007.  Dunn also represents St. Louis County on the Missouri Bar Young Lawyers’ Section Council and is the Missouri Bar Liaison for the Bar Association of Metropolitan Saint Louis Young Lawyers Division.  She also serves as the Missouri Bar Young Lawyers Delegate to the ABA House of Delegates and as the Chair of the ABA Young Lawyers Division Committee on Ethics and Professional Responsibility for the 2017 – 2018 bar year.

Walk-ins and those who register after February 23 will be charged the non-member rate of $35.00.

LMA Midwest Region reserves the right to cancel the registration of any registrant with an outstanding balance.

Should you need to cancel your registration, please contact prior to February 23. According to LMA Midwest Region policy, all no-shows and cancellations after February 23 will be billed the full registration rate.
