Join LMA Phoenix and David Weissman for
"PR Crisis Planning & Management"

David Weissman will share his perspective about United Airlines’ botched response to the infamous dragging of a bloodied, helpless Dr. David Dao off one of its flights in full view of screaming, horrified passengers who immediately posted the event on social media. He’ll illustrate how United’s actions showed a lack of strategy and a tug-of-war between legal and public relations that culminated in a disjointed, shoot-from-the-hip series of tactical responses as the company’s stock plummeted $900 million.

Learning outcomes will include:

  • What’s at stake for your firm’s clients
  • Top crises your firm’s clients will face
  • Managing different types of crises (other case studies relevant to legal communicators)
  • Importance of counsel and communications working together

Join us to learn how to protect against likely crisis scenarios, manage them when they happen, and help rebuild the brand if a crisis strikes.

About our Speaker

David Weissman-sm.jpgDavid S. Weissman, J.D.
Senior Director of Communications
EdPlus Dean's Office Admin
Arizona State University

David Weissman knows a thing or two about crisis planning and crisis management. He’s a reputation management expert and former litigation attorney who’s been to war in the media with the attorneys for the developer of the Grand Canyon Skywalk involved in a multi-court legal battle against the Hualapai tribe. David developed a comprehensive crisis readiness plan for a growing, multi-state restaurant franchise guarding against its nightmare scenarios including foodborne illness, cybersecurity breach and serious injury/death in a store and he managed all external communications for the family of a gun instructor seeking to change the law after their husband/father was fatally wounded by a 9-year-old learning to shoot an Uzi, among other public-eye controversies.

Thank you to our meeting host Jones Skelton & Hochuli!
