Lawyers at all stages of the profession seem to appreciate the importance of marketing these days; many are anxious to build their own books of business, whether for financial rewards or to control their destinies. Unfortunately, many lawyers’ marketing efforts are scattershot and ineffective. For those who are not “naturals,” developing an effective personal marketing strategy requires introspection as well as an external assessment. Without taking that step, lawyers simply go through the motions or imitate others. An effective individual marketing strategy will build on the lawyer’s strengths, interests, experiences and passions. This session will focus on ways marketers can help lawyers build a solid platform for success in business development through personal branding, niche marketing and effective individual plans.
