By definition, “Competitive Intelligence” is the process of (legally and ethically) collecting and analyzing information about competitors’ strengths and weaknesses. But in the legal industry this can differ some from Corporate America. Techniques are similar, but the tool sets and processes differ because of the specific type of information lawyers want to prep for client meetings, trials, negotiations and more. If you are not arming your lawyers with information they need to successfully execute a meeting, you may lose them.
This program will address the what and the how as well as look at the skills and processes that take “data” and turn it into actionable intelligence.

About the Presenters
Dave Whiteside is Director, Client Growth & Success for CLIENTSFirst Consulting. CLIENTSFirst is well known for their Strategic advice on CRM system processes and methodologies as well as Business Development Intelligence. In this role Dave is responsible for the growth, retention and satisfaction of the firm’s Clients.
Prior to CLIENTSFirst Dave spent 23 years with Thomson Reuters where he held a number of positions involved with the development and marketing of business development tools and processes for law firms. In addition, Dave was the Director of the Fortune 500 National Account Program where he was responsible for developing and executing service programs to the legal and regulatory departments of National & Global Corporate legal departments.
Dave is a well-known and popular speaker in Legal Marketing and is a past board member of the Legal Marketing Association Southeast Chapter. Known primarily for his knowledge of CRM and business development processes and technologies, Dave’s clients call on him regularly for his advice and he is well respected for the high level of service he provides to his clients. Dave graduated from Lake Superior State University with a degree in Marketing, and holds an MBA from St. Mary’s College in California.
Liz Boehm is the Director of Business Development at Benesch, where she manages and provides strategic oversight for business development efforts for the global business law firm of over 200 attorneys. Liz facilitates business planning for practice groups and individual attorneys and works with attorneys in planning and conducting meetings and presentations to clients and prospects. She oversees the firm’s competitive and marketing intelligence research efforts, prepares responses to RFP’s and coordinates sales strategy and sales pipeline tracking for business opportunities. Liz served as the 2013 president of Legal Marketing Association (LMA)’s Ohio Chapter, which was named LMA International’s 2013 Outstanding Chapter. She was named LMA International’s 2014 Rising Star and was also named a 2013 SoMe Impact Award Winner by Smart Business News – the only law firm marketer among the award recipients. Liz currently serves on the 2017 LMA Midwest Regional Board of Directors.
