The Future Leaders SIG – What’s In Store for 2016

As one of the Capital chapter’s most active sub-groups, the Future Leaders Shared Interest Group (SIG) is a collection of in-house legal marketing professionals with less than five years of experience in the legal industry. The SIG organizes bimonthly programming and informal networking events, at no cost to current LMA members (and for $20 to non-members), to provide participants with professional development opportunities, legal marketing education, and peer-to-peer mentorship.

The 2016 Future Leaders SIG will be co-chaired by Ashley Briggs, Business Development Coordinator at Arent Fox, and Lara Knowles, Marketing Specialist at Harris, Wiltshire & Grannis. Ashley has been a member of LMA since 2013 and quickly signed up for the Future Leaders SIG since she was quite new to the industry and was looking for educational programming as she dived into her role as a coordinator. Lara joined LMA in 2013 and as a solo marketer at her firm she connected with the Future Leaders as a way of developing a professional development support system.

The agenda for 2016 will include several programs that touch on aspects of both business development, marketing, and communications including: pitches and proposals, awards and submissions, client development events, and diversity programming. The first program of the year (which can be found here) focused on professional development and examined real accounts of climbing the legal marketing ladder. The 2015 programming can be found here as well.

If you wish to join the Future Leaders, please email Ashley Briggs to sign up.
