Tell us about the highlights of your LMA18 Conference experience.
As a first timer, I had an awesome experience at LMA18. I enjoyed walking around the massive exhibit hall, getting to know people in our industry from across the globe, and learning from dozens of topical sessions. Some of the highlights for me were the keynote speaker on The Science of Happiness as well as the sessions discussing the 2018 Joint LMA-Bloomberg Law Joint Survey Report, diversity and inclusion in the legal industry, and active listening and of course, the beignets.
What was your top takeaway from the LMA18 Conference?
The future of our industry is bright. My overall experience left me feeling positive and excited. As the legal marketing industry continues to grow and develop, our roles within our firms and companies become even more important. I also thought the increasing importance in how lawyers perceive and depend on events as a BD tool was particularly exciting for my current role.
What advice would you give to someone who is attending the conference for the first time?
Come with a plan. The conference can be overwhelming if you arrive without knowing which sessions you would like to attend, which vendors with whom you want to meet and with whom in the industry you would like to network. The more time and research you put into planning your conference experience, the more you will get out of it.
