Michelman & Robinson, LLP - Marketing Assistant

Position Summary: 

While this position will provide unmatched hands-on experience in all facets of legal marketing, it is first and foremost a design job. Ideal candidates must be experts in the Adobe Suite and be capable of quickly putting together PowerPoint presentations, advertisements, newsletters, and marketing collateral. Further, the Marketing Assistant will be the main point of contact for all things website and Intranet.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Design Firm marketing collateral, including brochures, handouts, and advertisements
  • Design PowerPoint presentations for attorneys (for case and educational purposes)
  • Manage, maintain and update Firm’s website and Intranet
  • Execute and create layout of numerous monthly/quarterly internal newsletters
  • Coordinate and design firm email marketing campaigns
  • Identify, maintain and grow the Firm’s social media presence, must understand social media platform management tools
  • Develop content for Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn and train attorneys to use LinkedIn
  • Assist with internal celebrations/events and act as digital internal historian
  • Assist and coordinate marketing packages, RFPs and pitches
  • Provide support to Human Resources and Marketing Dept. with new hire process
  • Assist with selection and mailing of holiday gifts for clients
  • Develop, maintain and update marketing materials, including practice profiles, attorney bios, announcements, and news clippings for the website and Intranet
  • Oversee and maintain vendor relationships for production
  • Create and maintain various files, mailing lists, and Excel spreadsheets
  • Assist with firm events, speaking engagements, seminars and webinars, including designing invitations and name tags, and greeting clients at registration
  • Maintain and update the Firm’s marketing databases, including client/contact mailing lists, email distribution groups, and invitation/guest lists
  • Assist with observing  internal celebrations and milestones
  • Process and maintain invoices, purchase requests, check requests and credit card authorizations
  • Photograph and edit images of employees for internal use
  • And perform other marketing and public relations duties as directed

Work Experience Requirements:

  • 0-3 years marketing, public relations, or related communications field experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required
  • Expert in Publisher, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator
  • Strong graphic design skills
  • Project management skills are essential to this role
  • Excellent writing, research and communication skills, with attention to detail
  • Social Media expertise, including blogging, Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter
  • Proactive, self-starter with a positive attitude
  • Demonstrate initiative (e.g., organizing, planning, problem-solving and decision-making)
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and flexibility to change priorities when situations arise
  • Ability to communicate professionally with all levels of personnel, executives, and vendors
  • Interest in law firm marketing and public relations as a career

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related Communications field from a four-year college or university or equivalent experience

Additional Information:

  • Full-Time
  • Reports to Marketing Manager
  • This position will work in a professional office environment and will be required to sit for prolonged periods of time using a computer and telephone.  From time to time, this person will be required to lift items under 40 pounds.
