LMA Northeast Chooses New York’s Sam Sroka as an LMANext 2019 Fellowship Winner

Sroka Sam 2019.jpgLMA New York has proudly selected Sam Sroka, editorial coordinator at Bond Schoeneck & King, as a winner of our LMANext Fellowship for 2019. 

LMANext Fellows were selected through a region-wide nomination process and evaluation by their Local Steering Committees seeking to identify and support up-and-coming leaders of the organization. 

Sam and other LMA Northeast Fellows - Erin Caher of Davis Malm & D’Agostine P.C. in Boston; Maggie MacDonald of Saul Ewing Arnstein & Lehr LLP in Philadelphia – will be participating actively in at least one Local Group committee. Sam will be actively involved in the Programming Committee. They will also be expected to attend regularly LMANext Special Interest Group (SIG) luncheons. Each recipient will be rewarded with one year of free membership as an Individual to LMA International and the Northeast Region. 

Sam, a member of the New York State Bar and graduate of the St. John’s University School of Law, pursued a career in legal marketing to synthesize his drive toward business development, deep respect for the law, and his love of helping others succeed. He had previously worked four years in a private legal practice at two New York City real estate firms. 

Sam hopes to use the Fellowship to learn as much as he can from LMA leaders and committee members for future leadership within the organization, become involved with the next generation of leaders and to forge a path in a field he is passionate about. Sam says he realized, after attending the 2018 LMA Annual Conference and two years in the industry, just how much there is to know about legal marketing. “I am continually impressed by the level of professionalism and talent in LMA. Its programs are consistently dynamic and highly relevant. I am honored to be named a Fellow and look forward to a year of growth within LMA.” 

Bond Schoeneck & King has been very supportive of his professional growth. Sam has leveraged the wide latitude the firm has granted him to work on numerous initiatives to grow practice areas, including a re-design of a firm-wide RFP-response layout and an internal RFP section bank with more than 100 sections of various areas of law. 

His efforts have resulted in substantial revenue in ROI from RFPs. He also spearheaded the redesign of the firm’s social media templates in 2017 and is at the helm of the firm’s social media accounts. “My team at Bond, especially CMO Kathleen Leach and Business Development Manager Bob Lazzaro, are leaders in our industry and have helped me grow exponentially.”

Sam has also been successful in applying the same energy and drive he puts into his projects into managing long-distance relationships spanning the firm’s 10 offices and 250 attorneys. Visiting lawyers from other offices find themselves greeted by Sam with a genuine interest in learning more about their practice and how he can help them further develop their business. 

LMA New York is pleased to help Sam excel in the legal marketing profession by bestowing on him the honor of the LMANext Fellowship for 2019.
