Call for Speakers for 2021 Programs in the Northeast Region

The Legal Marketing Association's Northeast Region is seeking dynamic speakers to provide high-quality, educational programming for legal marketing professionals throughout the Northeast region in 2021.

As always, we welcome seasoned presenters who can "wow" an audience with their deep knowledge of cutting-edge marketing, business development, communications and technology management in the legal industry. We also encourage new presenters who can bring a fresh perspective and voice to issues our members should be aware of. Scan our calendar to find past presentation topics and formats for inspiration.
As we anticipate live webinar programming will continue through at least part of 2021, please consider pairing with your peers — locally, across the region and even across the county — and sharing some of your best practices for increasing the value of your contributions to law firms and their clients. This is a terrific opportunity to raise your professional profile to a wide network, especially since webinar invitations are extended to the LMA groups throughout the region including Boston, New York and Philadelphia.

Programs should be solution-oriented and focus on legal marketing as a vital part of the law firm’s business landscape. These should not be sales pitches! Some of our most popular programs in 2020 focused on topics such as bringing new ideas to life in a law firm, using cross-departmental collaboration to drive revenue, and online reputation management.
Speakers should be prepared to engage attendees ranging from entry-level coordinators to mid-level specialists to senior leaders from law firm marketing departments, consultants and service providers. Small, medium and large law firms are all represented within our membership.

NEW for 2021
Think interactive when pitching webinars! We welcome programs with live polls and other unique features that encourage participation. We are also looking for ideas that may appeal to small audiences that leave room for group discussions or the use of virtual breakout rooms for virtual networking.

The deadline for proposals is Friday, November 20, 2020.

Please direct questions or concerns to Robyn Addis, LMANE Director-at-Large and Programming Liaison.
Please structure your proposed session in one of the following formats:
  • Panels: A minimum two and maximum four speakers with a moderator in a conversational format.
  • Workshops: Highly interactive session led by a minimum of two speakers and should include worksheets or other in-session activities.
  • Case Studies: Led by a minimum of two speakers who will present, by giving real-life examples, a study on an idea that was brought to fruition.
Please submit your program to the LMA Speaker Database. At the bottom of the page, select "Call for Speakers".

Deadline for submissions is Friday, November 20, 2020
Speakers will be contacted by Friday, December 18, 2020.
  • Include all of the requested information.
  • Follow the submission format.
  • Remember this is an educational session, not an opportunity to sell a product or service.
  • Be specific about how you will engage and educate your audience.
  • Provide details about takeaways - Will there be a toolkit that attendees can implement immediately at their firms?
  • Will the session be interactive?
  • How is this different from past programs?
For webinars, we ask speakers to participate in a run-through approximately one week prior to the presentation.

When we resume in-person programing:
  • A microphone(s) and LCD projector will be available for your program. We will work with you to confirm AV requirements.
  • Please be prepared to use your own laptop.
  • Should you choose to use a Mac, you will be responsible for providing a converter or any needed cable adapters.
  • We may video record these programs and a brief recap or the full program may be made available on our YouTube channel or other platforms.
