On behalf of the leadership of the LMA Midwest Region, I’m excited to welcome you to another great year of educational programming and valuable networking. We’ve got a lot planned for 2019 already, and we’re working on delivering the value you expect and deserve from your LMA membership.
Where to begin? First, we hope that you’ve already renewed your LMA membership for this year. If you haven’t, it only takes a moment online at www.legalmarketing.org. Don’t wait until your access to all of LMA’s great resources and benefits expires at the end of January.
Next, stay in touch: Please don’t forget to keep your membership contact information up to date. Our primary means of communicating with you is email, but we’re exploring other avenues that might be more effective and/or won’t clutter your inbox. If you know someone who hasn’t been hearing from us lately or If you have suggestions or want to help us, send an email (yes, we know, but it’s all we have for now) to Kara McKenna, our regional communications chair, or me.
We want to hear from you! Visit the Midwest Leadership page on our website for our contact information (or look us up in the member directory here – you’ll just need to login). What do we want to hear? Anything you feel like sharing with us! As we all know as marketers, feedback – positive or negative – is essential to the success of our organization.
What’s new? We’ve created a new regional initiative this year – we’re calling it Talent Development, but it will be more than what that name implies. We hope to more fully engage our members – that’s you! – on a variety of fronts, to both provide you with all the resources and opportunities we can, but also to benefit from the amazing depth of diverse talents and roles and skills and backgrounds that comprise this great organization. Laura Toledo will be leading the charge, so stay tuned for more details!
What else? Across the region, we’re exploring ways to create even more opportunities for networking and education beyond the great lunchtime programs we usually have, things like breakfast programs, free brown bag lunches, roundtables (in-person and virtual), webinars, new member mixers and more… And in Chicago, we’ve dropped the price for lunches to make them more accessible to more members. By the way, did you know that you can bring a colleague who’s not a member to their first LMA lunch for free? For more information, contact email@example.com. And just a reminder that you can always find a listing of upcoming events on the LMA website here.
See you in June! In addition to our local programming, LMA Midwest is looking to build on the success of last year’s third LMA Midwest Tech Conference by offering a redesigned and re-envisioned Midwest Conference in June that will cover not only technology, but many of the other important aspects of legal marketing that you encounter every day. More details to come soon, so watch for them! (And don’t fret, our Midwest Tech Conference will be back in 2020.)
Last but definitely not least: Remember that LMA is your organization. Not only do we want to hear from you, we want you to get the most out of your membership by getting involved – volunteer locally or at the regional level. We promise it will be fun and you’ll even make some great – and lifelong – new friends.
Are you excited yet for 2019? We are and we hope you are, too!
With warm regards,
LMA Midwest Region
