Position Summary
Responsible for assisting the firm in developing and implementing selected marketing initiatives.  Coordinate marketing efforts with lawyers and staff in the Vancouver and Whitehorse offices as well as with the Meritas head office and member firms.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Job Responsibilities:
• Development of print promotional materials that include brochures, advertisements, signage, etc.;
• Development and maintenance of corporate websites, lawyer profiles, external directory listings and survey information;
• Coordination of the firm’s public relations programs including external and internal publications to enhance awareness of the firm (e.g. blogs, media releases, etc.)
• Development of all firm marketing initiatives including research on target and corporate clients, corporate sponsorships, community events, execution of corporate events and speaking engagements (as directed by Event Coordinator), responding to RFPs, etc.
• Other administrative duties as required, such as maintenance of departmental contact lists, tracking sheets, databases, travel coordination and back-up to departmental staff as required.

Requirements:

Job Qualifications:
• Certificate or Diploma in Marketing or related discipline an asset
• At least two years’ experience in a law office marketing environment an asset
• Familiarity with the services provided by a full-service law firm
• Able to communicate with and gain confidence of lawyers and staff
• Highly organized and able to work independently while prioritizing multiple work assignments
• Able to take direction and ask appropriate questions
• Excellent proofreading skills
• Resilient to criticism
• Professional appearance
• Advanced knowledge of word processing, desktop publishing, presentation software, database management and spreadsheet applications such as: Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Adobe Photoshop and Adobe In-Design, Internet Explorer
