LMA Vancouver Wins Award at LMA Annual Conference

Members of the Vancouver Chapter of the Legal Marketing Association (LMA) just returned from the LMA annual conference in Atlanta, Georgia with the award for Chapter of the Year in LMA'S annual Your Honor Awards.

Vancouver, B.C. - March, 2007 - Members of the Vancouver Chapter of the Legal Marketing Association (LMA) just returned from the LMA annual conference in Atlanta, Georgia with the award for Chapter of the Year in LMA'S annual Your Honor Awards.

Given this was the inaugural year as a Chapter, this is quite an accomplishment. With 15 other chapters throughout the United States to compete with, Vancouver Chapter members are very pleased.

Vancouver is the first international chapter of the 21 year old LMA. Vancouver LMA President Allison Wolf is delighted by the award. "We set out to create a Chapter that would help to raise the bar on legal marketing in Vancouver. It was apparent that the local marketplace was responding strongly, but it's always nice to get that broader recognition of a job well done by our international association."

In its first year of operation, LMA Vancouver: grew LMA membership locally from 15 to over 50 members; held nine educational and networking programs; created an annual award for a second-year BCIT marketing student; and became the marketing training ground for law firms in Vancouver. The Chapter also formed a strategic alliance with the B.C. branch of the Canadian Bar Association, which promotes LMA Vancouver's programs to all member lawyers in B.C. and joins forces with LMA Vancouver annually to produce a marketing Bootcamp. Last year it took place in Kelowna; this year it will take place on April 20th in Victoria.

The Legal Marketing Association is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to serving the needs and maintaining the professional standards of the men and women involved in marketing within the legal profession. Headquartered in Illinois, the LMA is comprised of over 2,700 marketers, lawyers, administrators and consultants & suppliers to the industry from 11 countries around the world.
