Sally Schmidt, a nationally-known recruiter for law firm marketing positions, Sally will talk about the transformation that has taken place in the legal marketing industry, and discuss what law firms expect and are looking for in marketing professionals. Her topics will include:

She will also provide tips on furthering legal marketing careers.
SALLY J. SCHMIDT
Sally J. Schmidt is President of Schmidt Marketing, Inc. in Saint Paul, Minnesota, offering marketing services and products to law firms. The company's consulting clients have included over 400 law firms throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe, New Zealand and Australia, ranging in size from two to over three thousand attorneys. Ms. Schmidt received her M.B.A. (in marketing) and B.S. from the University of Minnesota, and was formerly the Director of Client Relations and Marketing for a 100-attorney firm. She was a founder and the first President of the Legal Marketing Association (LMA), and was inducted into LMA’s Hall of Fame in 2007, receiving its Lifetime Achievement Award. A Fellow in the College of Law Practice Management, Ms. Schmidt has made presentations at more than 200 national and international seminars and conferences for the legal profession, and her articles have been published in every major legal trade publication. She is author of two books: Business Development for Lawyers: Strategies for Getting and Keeping Clients (American Lawyer Media, 2006) and Marketing the Law Firm: Business Development Techniques (Law Journal Seminars-Press, updated semi-annually), and her marketing column appears bi-monthly in the Law Practice magazine of the American Bar Association.
