Law Firm Eco-Friendly Practices Outlined in New Research

The Authority for Legal Marketing Publishes Guidelines that Boost Reputation

The Legal Marketing Association's recently published white paper, "How Green Is My Law Firm?", reviews reasons why law firms "go green" and advises legal professionals on how to initiate environmentally conscious programs.

Authored by Rachael Loper and Robert Loper, the report is based on interviews with attorneys and staff at firms that are among the profession's leaders in this area.

"It doesn't take a major commitment of resources to get involved with sustainability," advises Beveridge & Diamond partner Dan Krainin.

Indeed, a widely-available framework drafted by the ABA-EPA Climate Challenge establishes basic targets for law firms in the areas of paper management, green power use and energy reduction.

The full report includes guidelines that any interested firm should consult and sustainability policies implemented by several interviewees.

LMA members may download the white paper in the online resource center.  Non-members may purchase the work for $250.  To reach the report's authors, interested parties are encouraged to contact LMA-HQ.
