Currently reading: "A Pattern Language" by Christopher Alexander. It is related to the net-zero energy/ zero carbon, green renovation of our home and office. We are doing it in partnership with So. Cal. Edison who chose our project as the cornerstone "case study" for their net-zero initiative. Their (and our) goal is to use the project to help change energy policy in the state.
People complaining about things but not contributing to a solution.

Currently reading: "Learning Like a Girl - Educating our Daughters". One of my daughters is about to "graduate" from a public elementary school. We have spent much time this year searching for a middle school for her for next year. This process has raised many issues/ questions for us relative to what kind of place constitutes the best kind of learning environment for our child (public, private, parochial, all girls, big, small, urban, suburban, subject focused, arts and on and on...) What ever happened to "There's your bus stop. I will see you at 3:00"?
I spend my free time: With my six year old son, Carter. It is the age of wonder, where the impossible is still possible - gotta love that.
