Thomson Reuters Sells Web Unit of Hubbard One
By: LMA International
Law Technology News reports that Thomson Reuters is selling the interactive web portion of its Hubbard One unit to the group's existing management.
The new company is called One North Interactive. Its goal is long-term maintenance of law firm sites and social media, rather than just one-time engagements, officials in Chicago explained.
"Myself and the other executives in the business laid out a plan for transforming this into a true interactive agency ... That type of business, we felt was better served as an independent agency," explained John Simpson, who led Hubbard's interactive marketing division and now serves as CEO at One North.
"The way our clients look at Web projects today, it's not as though you simply implement a project and move on to the next project," Simpson continued. "A website is a living, breathing thing. We've been largely a software business. What we are layering on top of that is a services business."
