2009 Chapter Board Nominations Open

A Call to Service: Volunteer or Provide Nominations for Our Board of Driectors

The Chapter is actively seeking volunteers to fill our leadership positions on the Board of Directors.  Board members meet monthly to discuss the policies and operations of the chapter.  They also attend operating committe meetings and work on numerous chapter initiatives.  The Nominating committee, chaired by Immediate Past President, Andrea Stimmel is in formation and has begun identifying candidates for next year's board. 

There are six openings on the board:

• Three Members-At-Large (two year terms)
• Financial Officer-Elect (two year term - first year is assisting the Financial Officer and second year as the Financial Officer)
• Secretary (one year term)
• President-elect (three year term to serve as President in 2010 and Immediate Past President in 2011)

New York Chapter members can nominate themselves, as well as a colleague.  The election will take place in October.  Candidates will be asked to submit a resume and a description of their volunteer work with LMA and other organizations and a brief statement on what they can contribute to the organization no later than September 1, 2008.  We ask that you speak with your law firms to make sure that they support the additional time you will be spending on professional organization activities.
